Love. I’m in it.

Until this year, I hadn’t had the privilege of seeing one of my close friends go through the entire pregnancy journey.

Suzanne and Aaron brought this little guy into the world about 7 weeks ago, and I just haven’t gotten him off my heart since.

Needless to say, I’m in love.

So thankful for the blessing of children. I feel like I am just now starting to appreciate and understand the beauty of bringing a child into the world and the absolute treasure they are. Watching Suzanne transform and seeing the Lord flourish areas of her heart that had yet to be opened before Wyatt Murphy made his appearance has been one of the sweetest experiences I’ve had in a long time.

I love being an Auntie, and I can’t wait for my siblings and friends to start having their own precious kids so that part of my heart can continue to expand.

Just wanted to share Wyatt with you all. He’s my favorite.

The Sweetest of Rewards

“Wait on Me, My daughter. My timing is always perfect. I know you’re anxious about many things, and I see your passion for all the plans I have put in your heart. I know that you long to fly, and I see your enthusiasm. However, just as a vinedresser nurtures the vine and waits patiently for the right moment to harvest the grapes, so too am I working tirelessly to prepare you to bear much fruit. Don’t run ahead of Me or try to fly before My plans are complete. Your strength will fail you, and your dreams will wither away. Trust Me that My dreams for you are far greater than the ones you dream on your own. You will run farther and soar higher if you will patiently wait for the season of My blessing. Draw close to Me now, and I promise that this season of waiting will bring you the sweetest of rewards.”

But those who wait on the Lord

will find new strength, they will fly high

on wings like eagles, they will run and

not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Today I turned 26. So to celebrate rather than have a crisis like I did last year, my best friend Courtney and I thought up all the blessing, beauty, and love we have in our lives.

So. Cheers. To birthdays.. getting older and hopefully… wiser.

Cheers to wanderlust, yet being grounded in the things we know.

Cheers to sharing sweet sadness and uncontainable joy.

Cheers to sustainable growth from our mistakes.

Cheers to being less skeptical of love, people, and life.

Cheers to understanding depth of friendship, despite time or distance.

Cheers to replacing deteriorating habits with healthy ones, in life, in love, & with the Lord.

Cheers to the sweet sound of laughing our way through memories.

Cheers to learning how to appreciate our life and the people in it, more than the grass on the other side.

Cheers to wandering… without getting lost.

Cheers to living in the moment, not the moment ahead.

Cheers to rainy days that prompt nostalgic memories.

Cheers to wishing we were in Ireland every day, but knowing we’ll return one day to live in a little cottage on a hill down the bluff from my best friend.

Cheers to living out dreams

Cheers to living life as if you will always be young, but with a sense of wisdom and understanding that can only come with age.

Cheers to never getting old. Or never feeling it, at least.

Cheers to growing old with people who will always recognize your soul

Cheers to holding life with open hands and a willing heart

Cheers to hammocks, breezes, cherry limeades, and understanding the meaning of life lies in simplicity.

Cheers to letting go of fears: The ocean is our friend, Jumping off high cliffs is freedom, Exposing our ‘ugly’ features allows for vulnerable beauty.

Cheers to seeing beauty in all things from the closest of friendships to the tragedy of change.

Cheers to not wallowing. Seeing what is to change, and simply changing it.

Cheers to truth, beauty and sadness- because they all exist and each teach us something of this life.

Cheers to us. To our journey thus far, and the journey’s that lie ahead.

Cheers to the sweet times, the laughter, the vulnerability.

Cheers to knowing that no matter where life takes us, our spirits will roam with one another’s.

Cheers to our friendship and our beautiful, beautiful lives.

this is your life.

This is your life.

Do what you love, do it often.

If you don’t like something, change it.

If you don’t like your job, quit.

If you don’t have enough time- stop watching tv.

If you are looking to the love of your life, stop;

They will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love.

Stop over analyzing, life is simple.

All emotions are beautiful, in some way.

When you eat, appreciate ever last bite;

some people don’t have food to eat.

Open your mind, arms and heart to new things and people,

We are united in our differences.

Ask the next person you see what their passion is.

Share your inspiring dreams with them.

Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself.

Some opportunities only come once, seize them.

Life is about the people you meet,

and the things you create with them.

So go out and start creating.

Life is short.

Live your dream.

Share your passion.

“Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence and fulfills the duty to express the results of his thoughts in clear form.” -Albert Einstein

I flipped a coin today about a decision I need to make and I discovered something interesting… it really didn’t matter what side it landed on, or even the fact that I was leaving the decision to a 50/50 chance. What mattered is that during that small moment when the coin was suspended in the air- I knew. I knew EXACTLY which side I wanted it to land on, and which decision I obviously wanted to make.

There are few moments or pure clarity in life, we cloud our decisions with “what if”s and could’s, should’s and would’s, it creates a world of gray and blurry indecision. So what do we do? We leave it to chance, we ask advice, we think it through (or not, depending on how much you really don’t want to actually make the right decision) we do everything we can to find the “right” answer… when in reality- we just need a moment of clarity sometimes.

Suzanne sent me the quote above when I was in the midst of a lot of gray. One way or another a decision was going to be made and it seemed like a double-edged sword, with neither side any better than the other. I found that in the moment of clarity- when the decision had been made, I knew that’s what I had wanted all along. Even though what “could have been” seemed so great and so right, I found myself shying away from it. I don’t want to be labeled as mediocre… I want to be in the first group- one of the people marked with a great spirit. Yet, it’s so easy to let prejudice, fear, doubt and pride cloud our minds and bar us from expressing ourselves (whether in word or in action) with great clarity.

Don’t live and direct the steps of your life by letting coins and mediocre minds have the determination of what’s good and right. Live your life with clarity and with a clear understanding of which direction the Lord is leading…

“walk in faith, nothing wavering”

Don’t be tossed by indecision and regret.

Continue to step forward.

With great clarity.

Disclaimer- This may not make any sense…. I’m still working on that clarity thing.
